After a decade long association Microgaming and Intertops are about to part ways following Intertops decision to re-enter the US market.
Intertops and Microgaming began their association when the online gambling industry was in its infancy in 1997, and since then have both grown to be dominant brands. But in the wake of Intertop's decision to re-enter the US market, Microgaming has decided that its time the partnership ended.
Microgaming decided to withdraw from the US market following a ruling by a Kentucky judge that certain gambling sites faced forfeiture if the did not block Kentucky resident access. In addition to the operative provisions of UIGEA coming into effect, Microgaming decided it, and all of its licensee casinos could no longer accept US player accounts.
Just days ago, Intertops announced the launch of Intertops Red, and new casino running on RTG software and aimed specifically at the US market. At the time of the launch no plans were announced regarding their existing Microgaming Powered casino, other than to re-brand it Intertops Green. Well, those plans have now been revealed.
Of the partnership with Microgaming, Michl Posch, Intertops' marketing head, said: “Intertops Casino is proud to have been powered by such a reputable, market-leading, gaming software provider over the past decade".
A new era dawns for one of the net's largest casinos.
